Maintenance & Warranty

Maintaining Your Playhouse

Our playhouses are made from real timber. Being a natural product timber will expand and contract with weather conditions which can result in small gaps or fine cracks. To make your playhouse waterproof you will need to apply a weatherproof sealant (such a Selleys Storm Sealant) between the timber roof slats and to any other gaps or fine cracks prior to assembly.

We recommend repainting and re-gapping your playhouse every 6-12 months or as need (if the paint fades or gaps/fine cracks appear) to increase longevity and ensure your playhouse is weatherproof.

Regular maintenance checks are recommended to ensure all parts and fixtures are tightly secured and intact to prevent failure, injury or hazards.

General Maintenance Tips:
  • Check and tighten screws, bolts and all other hardware elements as necessary. Ensure you do not over tighten as this can damage the thread and/or crack the surrounding timber
  • Lubricate all moving metal parts
  • If showing signs of oxidation/rust on metallic parts, sand area and repaint as required.
  • Give the playhouse a wash with some mild soap and warm water, removing any dirt/grime build up on the paint.
  • Should mould appear wash with vinegar diluted in water.
  • Inspect the playhouse for any cracks or imperfections and re-paint or re-gap if needed
  • For extended periods of wet weather we recommend covering your playhouse with a tarpaulin.
